I, too, have an award-winning BBQ recipe. My wife calls it “Worst Sauce EVER.” I have always failed at making a good BBQ sauce but thanks to this video, I learned a few secrets that turned my sauce into something quite good. I took Chef Todd’s suggestions on evaporation, and with a few tweaks, I made a sauce that has gotten very good reviews. It was a result of this video that I learned just how bad my old sauce was. If you like good BBQ sauce, the secret is in the science in this video!
wow thanks for being so damn positive…..
Pfft gl w/ that
hey…this is a reply about throwing shrimp on a barbie that got placed in the wrong place
Wow good to know that sarcasm is not lost here.
Im going to culinary school next year and i hope i get at least on teacher as cool as you!
Chef T you rock! Thanks for making cooking fun.
You remind me of one of my Chef’s back at school…. I would love to cook with you and learn some things new
A grill I guess
U so funny. Thanks a lot. I did not think in that way before. I brought pasta or BBQ ketchup with more than 2 pound, may be used one, put that into frizz, after some days I got fungus on that. Now I can buy like tomato (puree) base which is almost 30p(UK), and can make it in my way how I like! Thanks.
Hey chef Todd….in my country Puerto Rico we like honey, will it be a good idea to do add it to my BBQ ??
Also try to add Wasabi to your BBQ…you’ll be amazed how awesome it is
*facepalm*
Where do you think shrimp on the barbie comes from?
Of course we have BBQs in australia, that’s one of the most australian things to do, but I think what we call a barbeque is what americans call a grill.
Oh and our BBQ sauce is usually smokey.
I’d call it “Aussome-B-Q” wait. I can’t believe I just did that.
How sad. I’m sure there’s some type of beach cooking where you dig a hole, maybe heat some rocks, and add ingredients. No? I’d call that Aussie-B-Q.
They don’t do BBQs in Australia.
Search “Happy Rob Buy” by google ,and you will find amazing.
Love it. You didn’t give away the “plot” but all the forshadowing needed.
Could this be done in a slow cooker? Maybe leave the lid off?
thanks for the help.appreciate it
thanks for that chef! i am now wondering, what about a brisket? do you have any good suggestions for a brisket rub? or sauce to go with that? thanks again!
3:18 LoL!!! nicely done chef!
Basically the same thing you just made but I add a pile of liquid smoke. Put it on after the ribs are baked in foil until crispy.
Mix and cook:
3/4-1c ketchup
1/3 c vinegar
4T liquid smoke
4T Brown sugar
1T salt
2t hot sauce of heat of choice
cilantro (optional)
Reducing the bbq sauce removes water through evaporation, so if you keep the lid off, this will occur much faster than if you had the lid on.
