Great video. Thanks
Dude you got a slab of concrete next to you…. ya might wanna get it off the wood patio! lol
actually he is wearing gloves and as ffor as the charcoal starter not sure if you have had any experience with one but after its charcoal is lit the bottom is not very hot heat rises really check it out the next time you use yours.
Don’t use the cooking grate to light the coals on. Use the lower grate and only ONE fire cube. Hope dis der be helpin ya der son. Ya dink 1+1 be 2? Gotta luv des South mouths.
God bless this poor kid, he’s trying and thats great but I don’t think he should be posting vids on “how to” methods when its obvious he’s a novice. He has no regards to safety what so ever. KTF.
2 comments – first, that dude’s accent is way cool – I don’t recognize where in the south it came from, where do I have to move to get one of those? (2) The only thing I do different is that I have a beer in one hand!
I thought that cracker was going to cook up some possum or maybe a squirrel
I’ve had my Weber for 7 years now. What I do to preserve my wooden handles (I hate the looks of the plastic) is to take them off each year before I break it out for the new season and I hit them with a light sanding and then rub them down with linseed oil. Each year they look brand new! I also use the Weber Firestarters, which I love, but I only use one at a time…more than enough to get up and going!
Sorry. My bad. I had a different BBQ video in a background tab that was making the ruckus. This is an excellent video for a newb like me–THANKS!
Why the hell is the Australian talking when I’m trying to listen to the dialog? I don’t even know what Dundee is saying…his accent is so thick. Not cool dude… not cool…
The one I picked up had nothing attached to it, but I just picked up a regular grill. No random Gold edition for me.
Umm, I just bought a Weber Gold a few weeks ago and it had the hook on the inside of the lid to hang it on the side of the bowl, just like the old ones.
the new webers dont even come with the lid holder included anymore and the optional add on device as shown in this video makes the lid sit far too low. the old weber’s are better.
great job thanks for your time I need one of those chimney do hicky things cause it seems like it takes for ever to get my coals nice and hot
I wrote to Weber and got some of the old style wooden handles as soon as I burned my hand on the plastic one on the lid. The plastic may last longer, but I think it’s a bad idea for a location that gets so hot.
They went with plastic because it holds up longer under the elements. My parents’ Weber is 15 years old, and the handles are either loose or have just about rotted off. Still grills just as good as my new one, though.
You can’t beat boiling those chickens when still in the cage!
he seems like a good kid even though he put the starter on a wood deck, and didnt sear the steak first and then go inderect heat..but what the heck ,he’s young.
2 words for you…salt and pepper. (you have to season the meat before grilling It’ll be soooo much better!)
and I’m with the others who say to start the chimney on the coal grate instead of the cooking grate. Good Cooking to you!
dude like really are you an idiot.
Hate that weber went to plastic lid handles instead of wood. They get so hot I have to use a oven mitt. 14 yr weber vet.
great grill
it starts out with a flame and when it is ready to cook on it is glowing ember sort of like embers in a fire.
i got a question might sound stupid here goes: does charcoal burn with a flame or just gets glowing red and really hot? pls answer?
you must be a yankee
I agree it’s better to put the chimney on the charcoal grate rather than the cooking grate, but that’s just knit-picking.
But I do have a thing about Charcoal grills and smokers on wooden decks… I may keep my Broil King gasser on my wood deck but my Weber charcoal kettle and Smoky Mountain smoker I keep them on the ground. I got a fear of burning down both my deck and my house.
I thought of it instantly when I seen you place the chimney full of lit hot coals directly on the wood deck.
